JB started her career attending cosmetology school in New Orleans at Hair and Skin Institute (Hair Tech) in 1981. Before opening up her own salon she worked at several salons Barry’s Hair Design and Emphasis on You in Houma as well as A Cut Above in New Orleans. As she spread her wings in the salon ownership world she started with multiple different names such as Hair Designs by JB and JB and friends then renting a 437 square foot space within a health club.Then she took a huge risk and built the salon and spa which we know today as Le Bijou Salon and Spa in 2003. It is now a stunning renovated state of the art salon due to hurricane Ida. She initially went into entrepreneurship and became a Redken artist and educator and is now a national Redken Artist, traveling the US training other professionals to live their best lives.

She became a stylist because she loves helping people feel confident, comfortable, and like the best version of themselves. She specializes in curly hair, big transformations, and loves anything that allows her to get creative—especially haircutting and color. Behind the chair, Avah is a mix of fun, focus, and real connection. She’s all about the details and creating a space where clients can truly be themselves. Whether someone is looking for a major change or just needs a little self-care time, she makes sure every client feels relaxed, heard, and leaves feeling amazing. When she’s not in the salon, Avah can be found out and about with her two-year-old daughter, soaking up the little joys in life. She loves to have fun, laugh a little, and bring hair goals to lifeone curl or color at a time!

Mary has been passionate about beauty for as long as she can remember. Growing up with a mom who was a salon owner and educator for a world-renowned beauty brand gave her an early front-row seat to the artistry and connection that lives behind the chair. That passion is what led her to graduate from cosmetology school in 2020 but for Mary, learning doesn’t stop at licensing. She is proud to be learning and growing alongside her mentor, JB a Global Redken educator of 36 years. With every appointment, Mary brings not only skill but also a genuine love for what she does and a commitment to making each client’s time in her chair relaxing, fun, and all about them. Whether someone is looking for a big transformation, the perfect style for a special event, or makeup to enhance natural beauty, she makes sure every client leaves feeling their absolute best. Mary is excited to create something beautiful with every client she meets and she looks forward to seeing you in her chair soon!
